Rachel Mbuki Rachel Mbuki is a former Miss Kenya who represented Kenya at the Miss Universe pageant at the age of 18. A top Kenyan model, TV Host, wife and entrepreneur, she moved to Miami shortly after her reign as Miss Kenya where she pursued her modeling career and made her American TV Hosting debut. In Kenya, she had been on television since the age of six on Kenya’s KBC Network as host on a children’s’ Christian TV show. As an adult, she continued to host multiple shows on the channel and was one of the two main Hosts of the “Good Morning Kenya” breakfast show when she left for Miami to work as a model. In Miami. she quickly transitioned from model to TV host when she worked as an on air correspondent for major events such as Miami Fashion Week, The Super bowl and other media events…

Rachel Mbuki Currently based in Los Angeles, Rachel Mbuki has 18 years’ experience as a TV host between America and Africa having been on TV since she was a child. In Kenya, she had been on television since the age of six on Kenya’s KBC Network as host on a children’s’ Christian TV show. As an adult, she continued to host multiple shows on the channel and was one of the two main Hosts of the “Good Morning Kenya” breakfast show when she left for Miami to work as a model. In Miami, she quickly transitioned from model to TV host when she worked as an on air correspondent for major events such as Miami Fashion Week, The Super bowl and other media events. Ready to further pursue her TV hosting career, she then moved to Los Angeles 3 years later where she pursued a career in Journalism and completed her Broadcast Journalism and Communication degrees. Shortly after getting to Los Angeles, she became a news anchor at Transit TV Los Angeles, the channel that broadcasts to Metro Commuters in Los Angeles, and reached 1.1 million daily impressions. The NBA All Star Games, The Academy Awards, movie premier red carpets and LA Fashion Week are among other major events she has covered while in Los Angeles

Apart from the harassment and online bullying, Rachel Mbuki Marete still keeps a positive mind, as it is every woman’s dream and goal to be able to stand on her own, have a brand and stand out as a prominent name. Rachel achieved this by opening doors to her own fashion store, Mbuki’s Closet. The store is located along Ngong Road inside Marsabit Pizza and Stocks high- end fashion imported from Los Angeles Carlifonia. She is also debuting her fashion line for career Women in the USA, Werk Gal Apparel, in 2021. Rachel has also managed to build a very successful career in Corporate Medical DME Sales over the last decade. Her drive to succeed comes from her personal motto:
“You only fail if you don’t try”.

Over the years, Rachel Mbuki’s passion for fashion and modelling has given her great chances to stand for various brands as their brand influencer and spokesperson. It is this that also saw her stand out and win the Miss Kenya Title at the age of 18 making Kenya’s star shine at the Miss Universe pageant. Rachel has also been a representative of corporate companies, helping various companies promote and grow their brands. These include fashion and design brands, she has also been a brand ambassador of health and beauty companies such as; Sol Beauty and Care, Taper Shaper, been the face of a major Unilever beauty brand across Africa as well as been ambassador for telecommunications companies. She was also formerly named Kenya’s tourism ambassador by the Ministry of Tourism during her reign as Miss Universe Kenya and has also worked as goodwill ambassador for non profit organizations such as The Association of the Physically Disabled of Kenya. In Los Angeles, she also dedicates her time to helping those in need by volunteering at organizations such as The Midnight Mission on Skid Row where she helps serve meals to the homeless. With years of experience as a spokesperson, Rachel is the definition of beauty and brains and has been the face of major organizations, including when she got her start as the face of an entire country as Miss Kenya. She would be a perfect addition to your organization as brand ambassador. Not only is she a beauty queen, but she is also extremely articulate and well spoken, an excellent public speaker and writer and is fluent in 4 languages: English, Swahili, German and Kamba.

In the United States, over 40% of adult internet users report having personally experienced cyberbullying in their lifetime. Key Findings show that, nearly half of young people (47%) have received intimidating, threatening or nasty messages online, Children and young people are using social media for longer periods, and using multiple profiles. Of children currently experiencing a mental health problems, over 2/3 (68%) say they experienced cyberbullying in the last year. More youths experienced cyberbullying on Instagram than any other platform at 42%, with Facebook following close behind at 37%. Snapchat ranked third at 31%. While the survey participants use YouTube more than any other platform, the video-focused social media was only responsible for 10 percent of the reported cyber bullying. Therefore, gathering from her own experience as a victim of the same, Rachel Mbuki has taken it upon herself to stand against cyber bullying by being an activist against it through her social media platforms as well as the interviews she does. This is aimed at taking steps to curb the vice and see that social media becomes a safer space- especially for women and children. Rachel has also joined hands with other women to stop cyberbullying online under the #justiceforrachelmbuki tag created by her followers in defence of her against the vicious cyber bullying she faced from a group of individuals for a year which catapulted her to wanting to help others going through the same.
